Weekend special treat: Salmon with strawberries

Photobucket

I don't care about my lack of time so I am very determined to carry on this series of posts in my blog. So as stated in previous post, eating healthy and fancy, at least on weekends, is my new goal. Nothing much to say, the picture speaks for itself. Have a lovely Sunday!

This post is dedicated to my friend Kàrt as it was at a dinner at her's that I discovered this magical salad. xxx

What you see on the plate: Iceberg, rocket, fennel, strawberries, smoked salmon and a slice of lemon, all garnished with some olive oil and balsamic glaze.

home chillin' and home cookin' and home grillin'...

Photobucket

After a week of illness I'm pretty much excited about returning to school. Can you imagine how desperate I must be cause.. me? excited about going to school? (not because I don't like to study, I do like. It's all the other factors I don't like: the distance, the ambient, the teachers, exept few) Never. Exept for now.. Haha. It's just that I don't like loosing lessons and then later on find myself buried underneath homework and projects and stuff... It has been nice to be at home, to spend some relaxing time with my mom and my sister and mainly I got the chance to make a research about universities in London for architecture and interior design. (I read about Bartlett and AA and Cardiff and something else). There is a lot of paperwork to do and although I've got a year, it's only a year. December 2010 I should have my portfolio ready-steady for being sent in London. It's not that much at all.. considering the fact I do not have ANY works I could include in "my portfolio". So it's about time to get buzy buzy buzy. I'm afraid my blogging shall suffer a little because of it but hey, dreams need some sacrifices. And dreams come always FIRST. Don't you think? It's not easy to have ambitions. Not at all. You have to remember about them all the time and you can't really make any exeption. It's like a heavy heavy handbag you need to carry with yourself on your trip. You can't really leave it behind, just because it's breaking your shoulder or your back... You need to find a way to resist. And make sacrifices. Like throwing away those pretty Lou's (Louboutins) (I know they're pretty dear, but they won't help you on climbing the rocky mountain now won't they?). (I mean it symbolically- a nice pair of stilettos on a job-interview is always a plus. Oh we women are just blessed by God, don't you think like that, girls?) Or resisting on a tricky-mirage and trying to convince yourself it's only a catch that will lead you in a trap 'cause easy shortcuts are NEVER right. Things that come easily, go away just as easily. But things that come hardly, stay. Definitelly.
What do you think about my theories? What is your point of view on things?:)
Here are some shoots taken while my peaceful illness.. Enjoy:)

My lovely weekend...

Photobucket

I love when guests come to our place. I love when house is full of people. We hadn't had anyone since this summer (my best friend) until this weekend my mom's cousin' Kadri came to visit us from Luxembourg for two days. So it was quite a relaxing weekend. In the evening we watched films and ate some ice-cream with baked apples.

Photobucket
Although it's already November, the wheather has been amazingly warm and beautiful.
I think it's the best Autumn so far I've been here.

Photobucket
The apples covered with cinnamon baking in the oven.

The final result. Ice-cram + the baked apple + roasted sweet cereals. Mmm..

Kadri's present for us: twe lovely espresso cups, by Villeroy & Boch.

Every time a friend or a parent of ours comes to visit us, we have a great excuse to play turists. And though almost everyone from our family back in Estonia has been here (my 89-year old grand-grand-mother and 6-year old cousin included), we still haven't seen EVERYTHING there is to see in Rome or near Rome. (And in this case I'm not talking about Colosseum or Palatino Hill or other typical turist-must-see. I've been there even more times than half of my class all together, belive. ) This time we went to see Ostia Antica. It used to be the harbour city of Ancient Rome, founded already back in 7 AD by Ancus Marcius, one of the seven kings who ruled Rome before the republic era. (source:wiki) (click!).
It was a really nice day. We had fun by playing hide and seek, italians call it Mini-Pompei. So the "streets" form sort of a labyrinth. I almost got lost when I forgot myself on photographing the site and everyone else had already went on. It's really huge and beautiful. You need atleast 4 hours for it. It somehow reminded me Via Appia Antica and the Palatine Hill in the center of Rome.

There were many mosaics so well-preserved. This part used to be a Spa once.

I found this beautiful scuplture in the middle-of nowhere, so alone. It was here that I forgot myself on taking pictures- the light was so great.

I will never get tired of the beauty of Ancient Rome and the Imperial Architecture, and I'll never get tired discovering it!:)
I hope you liked the pictures and enjoyed this post.
Have you ever been to Rome and if yes, what emotions did you get?

Ah, But underneath we're all desperate. Desperate Housewives.

Photobucket

Today I woke up and I needed to do something useful. Lately I have spent too much time on computer and in the end doing nothing. Just hours of sitting and clicking different websites and blogs. It's all positive, being informed, being hip and cool and knowing everything.. but it's quite impossible to be upgraded about every single thing what's going on in the design and fashion world. So I took a break and did something different today.

Photobucket

Today I was a perfect housewife. I pretty much had fun doing all these things like cleaning the house and taking out the garbage and cooking and reordering my sis' things.. It was a great change.. but I have to admit- doing it every single day and you might as well may call me desperate. I don't know how the hell my mom manages doing everything?
The best part of being a housewife is cooking.
I love cooking! It's one of those things I love to do so much but because I'm so busy all the time I never get to do it. As everyone's sick in the house I decided to make a soup.
French Onion Soup more preciselly.

Photobucket
The last part of making the onion soup: adding the pieces of bread and covering it with fresh cheese.. yummie!
Photobucket

The last time I ate it was too long time ago, in France. And guys, let me tell you, I can swear it was better than the one I got at the restaurant. Or maybe I was just too hungry. Everyone loved it and I decided I should dedicate one day from the week on cooking and preparing different delicious plates. It's so gratifing. And I'll be definitelly experimenting TYPICAL italian plates;)
What's your favourite activity you never get to do just because there's so little time?
