Sanremo.. Sanremo.. ooh how I miss you!

Photobucket

Finally here I am! After an accurate choose & delete & upload process I am (almost) ready to start posting the pictures.

Our vacation was simply perfect! It was all about nice walks in the flower gardens and parks, delicious aperitivis (happy hours) at the seaside, fun cooking and having guests over, night shopping and silly photosessions. It was surely one of the most relaxing ones I've ever had. We also had a blast by doing some tourist-must-do's once in Sanremo like visiting the Casinò and the famous Villas.

Here's the first part of our trip: the arrival, at our house, the old town and the lungomare.

On our way we decided to go by plane. BAD IDEA! We took a flight to Nicewhere we were picked up and taken by car to Sanremo. Nice is only one hour away from Rome but it took much more as our flight was delayed for 10 minutes for 5 times! But it's quite usual for Fiumicino airport. Strangely it's not legal to take pictures of public transport in Italy - not in airport and not in the metrostation - as soon as I took my camera out I was noticed but I managed to stole some shoots anyway ! ;)

Here we are, just arrived in France and on our way to Sanremo, in the traffic casino ofcourse.

We passed all the famous French Riviera and Italian Riviera hot spots like Monte Carlo, Monaco, Ventimiglia.. I took some pictures from the car but they are not that worthy to be posted here.. This road reminded me a lot of my Eurotrip with my family back in 2008 when we drove from Savona to Monte Carlo. I remember promising myself I would return there one day. The very first car-trip I'll do as soon as I'll my own car shall be from the italian coast to the french coast and I'll visit all the small towns one by one, they're all so precious!

And.. finally at our sweet apartment! It turned out to be a very cozy home and we liked to spent our time there.. Infact one of the things I miss the most is our house.

We took it very easy and so every day we woke up late and had our long breakfast on our wonderful terrace. Usually right after we'd finish clouds would show up and stay stubbornly until 16 o'clock, that's why we didn't get much to the beach.

Often we preferred staying at home for lunch as it was so cozy there! It was almost great as at the restaurant, only more intimate.

Photobucket

And now some shoots of the town! Sanremo is known the most for the flowers. It's very cured and green, there are flowers everywhere you look!

The wonderful lungomare.. The walks we took there were spectacular! You could see all the town from there. The view was amazing especially in the evenings!

Here there used to be the railway but about 10 years ago it was re-constructed in a cycling road.

Coming up: the happy hour at Victory's and Ferragosto fireworks.

Monte Carlo Nights!

Photobucket

Monte Carlo... Monte Carlo..
It is a nice place. Too nice!!! I mean, it's nice to visit, to go for a walk.. and watch the luxury around you: the cars, the shops, the restaurants, the casino, the yachts, the people... But I don't know IF I'd ever like to live there. I mean it is all so wonderful, but that's the point- it seems too wonderful. And maybe there's a catch, somewhere between the lines, between the smiles on the people's faces, between the kisses and compliments made to each other... I don't know, I'm more hippie-like person from this point of view. But once in a while I do like these kinds of things.

These were some really really nice guys, friendly and everything...;) I just love how the french and italian men like to dress themselves, they have an impeccable taste! Plus they are really really handsome- if only the italian guys were TALLER!!!! Right Kadri?

Photobucket
Ah.. just another yacht of friend of mine's... (LOL)

I like the architecture in Monte Carlo, it's really clean and a bit retro but still modern. Great from that point of view. Typical Mediterranean City, but in it's best means.

Us, in our hotel, before getting out.. our place was really small but really okay. Clean and everything plus basically in the center!

This Thai salad was buonissimo!

Mon Amour Côte d'Azur!

Photobucket

Mon Amour.. Mon Amour... I'm really in love with French Riviera! I mean who isn't? The city lights, the nightlife, the beaches, the villas, the nature... No wonder why so many artist through time have found so much inspiration for their creations from this mediterranean corner, starting with Pierre Bonnard and finishing with Pablo Picasso and Edvard Munch. Everyone knows it: a vacation in South-France equals with a Royal Holiday (talking about Royal, Queen Victoria, Napoleon III, Alexander II of Russia.. are just few to mention). Yes...it can be a little bit too cliché... But who cares. I love cliché's.
So this was my second time in Nice, this summer, and I went there with my best friend Kadri-Ann. We had so much fun, that voyage I'll remember forever. The best thing about everything was the fact that it was all organized on the last minute, a total improvisation. And nothing went wrong. As we made too many pictures, here are one part of them. Enjoy!

Photobucket
The first morning we had breakfast in one of the lovely cafè's, with a cup of cappuccino and two croissants. Lovely, really lovely!

PhotobucketPhotobucket
My Dear Kadri, It was one of the nicest breakfasts we had on our trip. Maybe because it was the first day and everything was so nice, so french, just like in the movies...
Photobucket
If I remember well, this was a hairdresser's shop. Really stylish retro taste.

Photobucket
"Tendance"
- A shop full of interesting home ecor items. I really would have wanted to buy ALL THE SHOP!

Photobucket
There were so many chocolate shops!!! Like on every corner you could find one...
So cute so nice, just like in the film "Chocolate".

A shop entirely dedicated on dogs dressing. Even the french dogs are the best-dressed in the world.

LOVE, a bar where we chilled at the night quite a lot, I'll post about Monte Carlo Nights later on tomorrow, the small parties we had..

We joked about doing an Evian water ad, but actually I have to say the water is really BAD in France. I missed so much the Italian, specially the Rome water, so soft and almost sweet. So don't by french water.

STAY TOONED FOR SOMEMORE PICTURES, about the party, Monte Carlo and the beach..
Bonne nuit à tous.
