Let's talk about vacations at the seaside near Rome: the Ponza island.

The other day me and my mother were talking about vacations at the sea-side. Most of the tourists who come to visit Rome don't know about the wonderful possibilities to enjoy also the sea-side once here. I'm talking about Riviera Ulisse. It's beautiful and wild, it's exclusive (some of the richest and wealthiest italian/roman families have villas for decades there), it has many important archeological sites AND it's near Rome. A perfect combo for who is interested in taking a pause from the heat of the Capital. Differently from other famous rivieras in Italy (like Costa, Ligure, Costa Amalfitana, just to name few), Riviera Ulisse is still untouched by the mass-tourism. Once there one should definitely rent a car as there are many little towns and villages to visit, all so very different from one another.

One of my first vacations I went alone to was, infact, in this coastal are, back in 2006. Me and my friend Erika, who has a summer house in San Felice Circeo, went to visit these marvellous little paradise islands in the Gulf of Gaeta. Here are some pictures I took with my compact camera:

Over a year ago also my family went there on a vacation. Unfortunately I wasn't able to join them as I had organized the year-end party with my classmates at the beach.

This post is to be continued....
